Curtis LeRoy Elliott Sr., 91, of St. Louis died Feb. 16, 2026, at de Greeff Hospice in St. Louis. Mr. Elliott retired from Boeing after more than 42 years as a machinist, achieving the distinction of journeyman machinist. He took pride in his work and in the years he spent with the company, previously known as McDonnell Aircraft and McDonnell Douglas. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Airborne, serving during the Korean War. On Nov. 19, 1955, he went on his first date with Delane. They were married on June 24, 1956. In his free time, he and his wife enjoyed fishing, camping, and bowling, creating many memories together. He will be remembered for putting his family first and for believing in the value of education, often working seven days a week for extended periods to help his children achieve it. Born June 6, 1934, on the Elliott family farm in Black River Township near Hendrickson, he was the son of the late Hannah Geiger (Holt) and Farrington Elliott.
He is survived by his wife: Delane Bradley Elliott; three children: Curt (Sandy) Elliott Jr., John (Donna) Elliott and Robin (Howard) Huhmann; five grandchildren: Amanda (Joel) Binkholder, Brittney (Mike) Johnson, John Huhmann, Sierra Elliott and Brooke Elliott; five great-grandchildren: Kashton, Emerson, Myla, Bo and Aiden; his nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Alma Woodward; and a brother: Henry Elliott.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3556 S. Westwood Blvd., in Poplar Bluff. Memorials may be made to No Kid Hungry at nokidhungry.org.
