Horner, Clyde

Clyde “Joel” Horner, 83, of High Ridge died Jan. 27, 2025, in St. Louis. Mr. Horner was an active member of Canaan Baptist Church. He loved spending time with relatives and friends, square dancing and watching classic Western movies. Most of all, he loved making memories with his family and traveling the country with his wife. Born Aug. 1, 1941, in Avondale, Colo., he was the son of the late Clyde and Hazel Horner.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years: Cecil Faye (McLeary) Horner, whom he married on April 16, 1960.

He is survived by a son: Randy (Patti) Horner; three grandchildren: Michael Horner, Ashley Davis and Bradley (Rachel) Horner; seven great-grandchildren: Abbey Horner, Claire Horner, Kyle Horner, Isaac Horner, Crue Davis, Luna Davis and Jayce Horner; a brother: Alan (Brenda) Horner; many siblings-in-law; and numerous other family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by his youngest son: Carl Dean Horner.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
