Chase Preston Marriott, 17, of Imperial died March 29, 2025. Chase was the oldest of six children. He lived his first eight years in Imperial and Festus before he and his family moved to Gilbert, Ariz., where they lived until 2019, later returning to Imperial. He often expressed pride in his Missouri roots while still enjoying Arizona. He was known for being full of energy and as an avid learner. His depth of knowledge extended to world leaders and geography, nuclear arsenals, political factions and maps. He was also well-versed in the NBA and the NFL, knowing players, teams and coaches along with their statistics. From an early age, he enjoyed attending church. He was a dedicated employee at McDonald’s and, in his free time, loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his siblings. In recent years, he enjoyed cooking and staying active. He also loved traveling to beaches, visiting museums and amusement parks and attending baseball games and family gatherings. Born May 10, 2007, in St. Louis, he was the son of Lucas Moe and Holly (Counterman) Marriott.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a maternal great-grandmother: Vera Martin; a paternal great-grandfather: James Marriott; a maternal grandfather: Dennis Buck; his paternal grandparents: Kelly and Paige Mattice and Mike and Penny Marriott; four brothers: Drew Carson Marriott, Isaac Sloan Marriott, Wade Liam Marriott and Beckham Dean Marriott; a sister: Avery Jade Marriot; two uncles: Joshua (Tara) Marriott and Troy (Kerry) Morton; four aunts: Echo (Conor) Hovland, Jessy (Bobby) Banner, Crystal Marriott and Tiffany (Jake) Williams; cousins: JJ, Jace, Jagger, Jensen, Hudson, Sawyer, Theodore, Evie, Kegan, Kolter, Caidence (William), Rhainie, Kyra and Kota (Curtis and Trevor); and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Marian “Mimi” Buck.
Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. today, April 4, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4511 Butler Hill Road, in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Hoffmeister South County Chapel.
