Charlotte A. Smith, 84, of Arnold died Jan. 2, 2026. Mrs. Smith was the former financial secretary for UAW Local 110 Retirees Union for 30 years. Born Jan.19, 1941, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Walter Hussmann Sr.
She is survived by her husband: Laurence C. Smith; two children: Lorraine Basden and Lynn Tamol; four grandchildren: Christopher Lessor, Mindy Mayer, Toni Mayer and Matthew Basden; a great-grandchild: Benjamin Lessor; a sibling: Edward Hussmann; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by four siblings: Bernadette Hussmann, Robert Hussmann, Walter Hussman Jr. and Maryland Weigel.
Visitation is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Mary Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Road, in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
