Chad Alan Smith, 34, of Eureka died March 11, 2026. Mr. Smith was known for his devotion to his faith, his wife and his family. He was also known for his positivity, acting as a counselor, advisor and a shoulder to lean on or to confide in. He enjoyed family gatherings, the outdoors and sports, especially the Blues and St. Louis City SC. A lifelong resident of the St. Louis area, he graduated from Northwest High School, obtained an associate of arts degree from St Louis Community College and a bachelor of science in business administration from Maryville University. Initially working in the finance industry for Scottrade, Stifel and TD Ameritrade, he eventually changed career paths, working in the defense industry for The Boeing Co. as a program scheduler. He will be remembered for his warm smile, followed by big bear hugs, his willingness to help those in need or provide a kind word and for treating others with respect. Born October 18, 1991, he was the son of Charles "Chuck" and Kelly Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Alyson (Erutti) Smith; a sister: Lindsey (Brian) Behnen; his parents-in-law: Glenn and Cyrette Erutti; a grandparent: Margy Smith; uncles: Fred Smith and Andy Smith; siblings-in-law: Kristin and Dominic Vassallo, Joanna Erutti, Stephen and Carrie Erutti; a niece and nephew: Olivia Behnen and Charlie Vassallo; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Fred Smith and Sally "Susie" Kromer; and an aunt: Kris Schlaefli.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A private burial service will take place in Copenhagen Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation, 2901 W. Truman Blvd., Jefferson City, 65109, or Crosspoint Church, 5001 Little Rock Road, St. Louis, 63128. Arrangements are under the direction of John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel.
