Agers, Carol

Carol Belle (Haas) Agers, 73, of De Soto died Oct. 3, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Agers was a retired art teacher at De Soto Junior High School, where she shared her creativity and passion for art with students. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association and volunteered at Helping Hands and Horses. She loved visiting Fort Walton Beach, horseback riding, raising monarch butterflies, watching sunrises and sunsets and gathering with her family during the holidays. Some of her greatest accomplishments and joys in life were her children, her education, singing on the praise team, horses and her fascination with monarch butterflies. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, creativity, love of family and unwavering faith. Born Dec. 24, 1952, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Herman Arthur and Barbara Marie (Vaughn) Haas.

She was preceded in death by her husband: David Alan Agers.

She is survived by two children: Heather (Jamie) Hoisington of De Soto and Andrew (Caitlyn Cwiklowski) Agers of De Soto; six grandchildren: Madison (Layne) Martin, Jaxson Agers, Tyler Hoisington, Liam Agers, Lyla Agers and Parker Agers; two sisters: Judy Jinkerson-Warden of De Soto and Susan (Alan) Politte of Festus; and a sister-in-law: Patricia “Patty” Haas of De Soto.

She also was preceded in death by a brother: Richard Haas; and two brothers-in-law: Charles Jinkerson and Joe Warden.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Saturday, Oct. 10, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
