Carol A. Garavaglia, 82, of Crystal City died Nov. 20, 2024. Mrs. Garavaglia was known for her compassion and nurturing spirit as a registered nurse at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed the creativity in crocheting and knitting. She loved to relax while reading a good book. A nature lover, she will be remembered for her green thumb and vibrant flower garden. She also enjoyed her time outdoors, especially fishing by the lake. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born Jan. 19, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Janice (Kopecky) Harbour.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Anthony Garavaglia Sr.
She is survived by a child: Anthony (Tammy) Garavaglia Jr.; three grandchildren: Ana Garavaglia, Anthony Garavaglia III and Donald Guyot; four great-grandchildren: Bella, Julian, Oakley and Adalay; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a child: Anna Garavaglia; and a grandchild: Alyssa Garavaglia.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Kirkwood.
