Carl J. Stuppy, 61, of St. Genevieve died April 28, 2025, at his home. Mr. Stuppy was known for living a quiet life and enjoying its simple pleasures. He spent many years employed at Mississippi Lime Co. and later at the Dunklin School District. He loved exploring new places and hiking through nature. He was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed time spent with family, especially hearing about the lives and adventures of his nieces and nephews and often shared small gestures like slipping them a Christmas gift from "Santa.” He will be remembered for his hard work, strength and loyalty. Born Oct. 30, 1963, he was the son of Leanna (Joggerst) Stuppy and the late Norman L. Stuppy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by seven siblings: David (Chae) Stuppy of O’Fallon, Ill., Richard (the late Tonya) Stuppy of Ste. Genevieve, Randy (Karin) Stuppy of Kansas City, Linda (Paul) Arnold of Ste. Genevieve, Bill (Terri) Stuppy of Bloomsdale, Deb (John) Kraenzle of Ste. Genevieve and Cathy “Bugs” Stuppy of Ste. Genevieve; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his bonus family: Amy, Andrew, Skyler and Damien.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Tonya Stuppy; a nephew: Tyler Kraenzle; and his grandparents.
Mr. Stuppy chose to donate his body to science. A celebration of life is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Basler Funeral Home, 685 Center Drive, in Ste. Genevieve. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Basler Funeral Home.
