Carl C. Harris, 86, of De Soto died Feb. 8, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Harris retired as an inspector for the Chrysler Automobile manufacturing plant in Fenton. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 136. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Missouri National Guard after 24 years of service. He also was a member of Amvets Post 48 and the De Soto Christian Church. Born Dec. 14, 1938, in Paris, Ill., he was the son of the late Raymond Carl and Imogene (McIntyre) Harris.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce (Sampson) Harris.
He is survived by a child: Todd (Lillie) Harris of Shreveport, La.; a son-in-law: Steve Willcutt of Richwoods; four grandchildren: Brittany Deaton, MeKayla (William) Rhodes, Dylan (Kelbi) Mueller and Kaitlin Willcutt; six great-grandchildren: Olivia, Ryker, Peyton, Nora, Lila and Maverick; eight siblings: Nancy Boyer of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Barbara (David) Adams of Jonesboro, Ill., Nellie (Mike) Spangler of Barnhart, Pete Harris of Cadet, Thomas (Joan) Harris of De Soto, Dorothy (Tommy) Williams of Potosi, Ike Harris of De Soto and Rosie Ward of Paris, Ill; a brother-in-law: Stanley Pinson of Cadet; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Dawn Willcutt; two sons: Keith Harris and Troy Harris; 11 siblings: Sharon Pinson, Violet Harris, Billy Harris, Eddy Harris, Sandra Harris, Sammy Harris, Larry Harris, Tim Harris, Mike Harris, George Harris and Bonnie Harris.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Matt Sutman. Burial will be in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
