Zavorka, Carl

Carl Arthur Zavorka, 73, of Hillsboro died Dec. 5, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Zavorka enjoyed living on Lake Wauwanoka. He loved fishing, watching Blues hockey and being in the Minnesota countryside. He is remembered for his sense of humor. Born May 31, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Catherine Marjorie (Willer) and Charles Fred Zavorka.

He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years: Patricia "Patti" (Jones) Zavorka of Hillsboro; two children: Corey Adam (Kalli) Zavorka of Waterloo, Ill., and Jamie Lynn (Craig) Robertson of Fenton; two stepsons: Anthony "Tony" Cole (Marlene) Margolf of Hillsboro and Timothy "Tim" Vincent Margolf of Affton; a brother: Mike Zavorka of Hillsboro; two sisters: Cathy King of Ballwin and Janet (Kevin) Harder of St. Louis; three siblings-in-law: Toni Fuse of St. Louis, Cathy Fletcher of Affton and Judy (Dave) Sauer of Oakville; seven grandchildren: Kamryn Zavorka, Cayla Zavorka, Charles Robertson and Jack Robertson, Gavin Margolf, Naveena Margolf and Bexley Margolf; and numerous family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Robert King.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Chapel Hill Mortuary Robert Brown Chapel, 103 4th St., in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the Backstoppers. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary Robert Brown Chapel.
