Brenda Jean Ford, 71, St. Louis

Brenda Jean Ford, 71, of St. Louis died July 2, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and bowling. She also was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Born Dec. 26, 1951, in Caruthersville, she was the daughter of the late Jeanette (Sanders) Gibson and Elmer Ford.

She also was preceded in death by two husbands: Frank Schwent and Edward Gamache.

She is survived by her four children: Sheila (Ron) Moen of St. Louis, Jeana (Glenn) Perry of Festus, Braden Gamache of Festus and Blaine Gamache of Tampa, Fla.; four siblings: Michael E. Ford of St. Louis, Jacqueline (John) Anderson of Festus, Dennis (Mary) Holst of Hillsboro and William Burger of Festus; 12 grandchildren: Taylor, Harrison, Vincent, Quinten, Ace, Molly, Trevor, Emmalee, Kristofer, Dakota, Amanda and Austin; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Lynne Gibson of Appleton.

She was preceded in death by a son: Brennan Gamache; and two siblings: Bertha Pursley and Jimmie E. Gibson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial will be in Holst Cemetery in Danby. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
