Bonnie Sue Verell, 64, of De Soto died Sept. 9, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Born Aug. 28, 1962, in St. Louis, Mrs. Verell was the daughter of the late Gloria Jean (Williams) and Eugene W. Davis Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Brooks.
She is survived by four children: Becky Verell of Farmington, Jamie Bader of Perryville, Brandi Verell of Farmington and Tyler Hagerty of Jefferson City; 13 grandchildren: Brandon, Jazmine, Scarlet, Bonnie, Easton, Elleana, Peyton, Aiden, Ethan, Evan, Ricky, Everett and Harper; and 10 siblings: Terry (Betty) Davis of Sullivan, Debra (George) Weckenfuss of Cadet, Michael Davis of Cadet, David (Kennetha) Davis of De Soto, Patricia Davis of Cadet, Katherine Davis of Cadet, Robert (Chassidy) Davis of Cadet, Eugene Davis Jr. of Cadet, Julia Davis of Cadet and Nicole Davis of Cadet.
She also was preceded in death by a grandson: Waylon.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Davis Cemetery in Cadet. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
