Beverly Ann Daugherty Scaggs, 77, of Festus died Feb. 14, 2024, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City. She was a medical assistant for the medical practice of doctors Gary and Kevin Sides in Festus and was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was active and enjoyed exercise. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and playing mah-jongg with her close friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing that passion with others. Born Dec.11, 1946, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Augusta Marie (Coleman) and Stephen Siracusa.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Terry Scaggs; and second husband: Wayne Daugherty.
She is survived by a sister: Barb (Gary) Linderer; two sons: Steven Scaggs of Festus and Scott (Eren) Scaggs of St. Charles; a grandson: Sean Taylor; and a great-granddaughter: Olivia Taylor.
She also was preceded in death by a sister: Brenda (the late Bob) Schwent.
A funeral Mass was held Feb. 20 at Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus, officiated by Father Michael Boehm. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Research Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
