Fisk, Betty

Betty J. Fisk, 90, of Arnold died Feb. 24, 2026. Mrs. Fisk married her husband at 16, and they quickly started their family. Her love of children resonated throughout her life, and once her own children began school, she worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Meramec Heights Elementary School and Ridgewood Middle School. She also volunteered in the nursery at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ for more than 40 years. A homemaker for most of her life, she was dedicated to making sure the needs of others were met before her own and that her home was open to those in need of a friend, a meal or place to stay. She spent many years caring for ailing friends and family members. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, having many sleepovers at the lake, enjoying early morning swims, eating French toast and playing card games with them. She also enjoyed attending their games, recitals and graduations. Known to be full of joy, she would often sing or dance as if no one was watching. She had an addiction to chocolate, a love for traveling and a “life is what you make it” attitude. She will be remembered for her love, laughter, strength and resilience. Born Aug. 30, 1935, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Dora Soetebier.
