Betty Ann Hewitt, 93, of Herculaneum, formerly of Festus, died May 27, 2025, at Scenic Nursing Center in Herculaneum. Mrs. Hewitt worked for many years as a bookkeeper for numerous businesses in the Festus area. She enjoyed being active in the community, and was involved in Cub Scouts, Little League Baseball and Community Chest. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Born June 6, 1931, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Lotz) and Adelbert “Barney” Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James William Hewitt.
She is survived by three sons: Dan (Maureen) Hewitt of Festus, Andy (Celeste) Hewitt of Festus and Martin (Monica) Hewitt of Festus; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy (the late Russell) Bauman and Pauline Bahns; and a brother: William E. Davis.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
