Bennie L. Johnston, 69, of Bonne Terre died Aug. 8, 2024, at his home. Mr. Johnston was a member of the NRA. Born Sept. 5, 1954, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Russell and Charlene (McGee) Johnston.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy (Gettinger) Lee Johnston; a son: Nathan Johnston; a stepson: Anthony LaDon Lee; four sisters; three brothers; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home, 1 Federal Park Ave., in Park Hills. A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Lee Webb. Burial will take place in Adams Cemetery in Frankclay. Arrangements are under the direction of Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.
