Benito Jaime “Benny” Herrera, 57, of Herculaneum died Dec. 14, 2025, in St. Louis. Mr. Herrera worked for many years as a service manager. He was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. In his free time, he enjoyed attending tractor pulls, watching movies, dining out, traveling and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Born Dec. 20, 1967, in Comfort, Texas, he was the son of Fidencia Herrera (Lopez) of San Antonio, Texas, and the late Guillermo Herrera.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Ruth Ann (Gioia) Herrera of Herculaneum; a son: Clayton D. Herrera of Ste. Genevieve; two daughters: Anna K. Ellmer of Imperial and Jennifer H. Ellmer of St. Louis; two brothers: Bill (Hilda) Herrera of San Antonio, Texas, and Paul (Velda) Herrera of Colorado; five sisters: Ursula Herrera of Eagle Pass, Texas, Irene (Lupe) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Norma Shinn of Boerne, Texas, Angie (Brian) Webb of Boerne, Texas, and Teresa (Steve) Almanza-Herrera of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren: Gabriel, Jameson, Violet and Christopher; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Logan Shinn.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Steve Lian. Burial will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
