Barbara Louise Chapman, 86, of Festus died July 8, 2026, at Scenic Wellness and Rehabilitation in Herculaneum. Mrs. Chapman was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Festus. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Born April 13, 1940, in Breckenridge, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Janet (Hall) and Clayton Dosson.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Joseph Chapman; two sons: Scott (Linda) Chapman of Ste. Genevieve County and Michael (Amanda) Chapman of Festus; a brother: David Dosson of Saginaw, Mich.; eight grandchildren: Lucas (Jorie) Chapman, Hannah Chapman, Mitchell (Audrianna) Chapman, Alyssa Chapman, Katie Chapman, Lucy Chapman, Isabelle Chapman and Jack Chapman; a great-grandson: Cormick Chapman; and a great-granddaughter: Elliot Chapman.
She was preceded in death by a son: Jeffrey Chapman; and a sister: Carol (the late Clayton) Peters.
Services will be private with interment taking place in the Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to The March of Dimes. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
