Kelly, Anita

Anita (Hays) Kelly, 84, of Eureka died Dec. 19, 2023. Mrs. Kelly, also known as “Skeeter”, was a senior sales director for Mary Kay, a role that combined her love of beauty and cosmetics with her leadership skills. She had many passions, including reading, the outdoors, camping and various outdoor activities. She kept note of current events, especially enjoying the perspectives shared on Fox News. A woman of faith, she was a member of the St. Louis Family Church. She was a member of Bible studies and a square-dancing group. She is remembered for her nurturing spirit and unwavering support for those she loved.

Born June 25, 1939, in Oakley, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Carolyn (Eichman) and James Hays.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Robert Kelly.

She is survived by two children: Jackie Kelly of Eureka and Jay (Barb) Kelly of Kokomo, Ind.; a granddaughter: Katie (Eric) Armstrong of Kokomo, Ind.; two great-grandchildren: Rowen Claire Armstrong and Rhett Cruise Armstrong; a sister: Vera Clark of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous family members and friends.

She also was preceded in death by two siblings: Royce Hays and Cindy Rehkopf.

Funeral services are scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 3, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 500 Meramec Blvd., in Eureka. Burial will follow from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the Ladies of Charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
