Alvin Clayton Day, 89, of Fenton died April 15, 2025, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. Day worked as a fire marshal for Chrysler Corp. He enjoyed farming at his farm in Patterson, gardening, visiting the casino and spending time with family. Born July 25, 1935, in Matthews, he was the son of the late Delphia (Adams) and Henry Day.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Beauton Karnese (Heitman) Day.
He is survived by a daughter: Kathy (Edward) Zeller of Herculaneum; two granddaughters: Aimee Alford and Tracy (Kevin) Bates; five great-grandchildren: Ashley, Abbey, Trey, Heather and Wyatt; three brothers: John (Norma) Day of Downy, Calif., Henry (Ruthie) Day of Fenton and Lindel Joe (Patricia) Day of Arnold; and two sisters: Faye Byassee of East Prairie and Doris Day.
He also was preceded in death by a sister: Carolyn Hunt.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
