Goff, Alva Don

Alva "Don" Goff, 81, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Hillsboro, died Aug. 13, 2025, at The Villages, after a battle with cancer. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed playing golf. Born Jan. 1, 1944, in Hornersville, he was the son of the late Alva W. Goff and Sylvia (Busby) Goff.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Irene K. (Lutker) Goff of The Villages, Fla.; a daughter Donna (Mark) Goff Davis of Granville, Ohio; a son: Don (Jeannie) Goff of De Soto; nine grandchildren: Billy, Amber, Izzy, Julian, Loren, Mackenzie, Bradley, Emily and Katelyn; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: John Goff; a daughter: Sherri Crow; and a son-in-law: Billy Crow

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A memorial Mass is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third St., in Hillsboro. A committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel.
