Ellen Marie Estes, 84, of House Springs died Aug. 15, 2023, in Fenton. Mrs. Estes was a Christian and a member of House Springs Baptist Church in House Springs. She loved going to church, fishing and drawing. She enjoyed going out to eat and especially loved French onion soup. She was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Born Nov. 15, 1938, in St. Clair, she was the daughter of the late Wilma Lucille (Hansel) and Roscoe Roy Light.
She is survived by her husband: Frederick William “Butch” Estes of House Springs; four children: Tamara Dopirak of Las Vegas, Nev., Kevin Lee of Cedar Hill, Patty (Bill Sullivan) Jones of Ballwin and Jasone (Kristi) Lee of Cedar Hill; two sisters: Kathy “Kate” (Ken Craden) Sharp of Sullivan and Ruth “Annie” (Mark) Richardson of St. Clair; a brother-in-law: Jesse Estes of High Ridge; a sister-in-law: Shirley Marshal of Overland; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Edward, Kenneth and Carl Light; three sisters: Mary “Agnes” Osseck, Dorothy “Dotty” Lowe and Sheryl “Sherry” Erbes.
A funeral service was held Aug. 22 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, officiated by Pastor Brad Adams. Burial was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair. Arrangements were under the direction of Russel Colonial Funeral Home.
