Clarence E. “Eddie” Wideman, 86, of De Soto died June 17, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Wideman was a retired laborer for Bloomsdale Excavating and a member of Laborers Union Local 110. Born May 29, 1937, in Richwoods, he was the son of the late Clarence B. and Maggie (Cordia) Wideman.
He is survived by his wife: Karen S. (Hibbits) Wideman; two daughters: Cheryl Haws of Arnold and Debra Wideman of Festus; two grandchildren: Colby and Tristan (Goldi) Daugherty; and three great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Kash and Freyja.
He was preceded in death by a son: Clarence K. Wideman; and two sisters: Wilma Minx and Phyllis Greenlee.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., De Soto, immediately followed by services officiated by Jason Sparks. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery in Richwoods. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 4400 Clayton Ave., in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, De Soto.
