Betty Jean Beers, 79, of De Soto died May 9, 2023, in St. Louis. Ms. Beers worked as a laundry attendant and enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball, playing with her dogs and spending time with her family and friends. Born Feb. 18, 1944, in Sullivan, she was the daughter of the late Gladine L. (Ash) and Herman A. Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles I. Beers.
She is survived by a son: Robert (Sabrina) Beers of De Soto; three sisters: Frances Taylor of Bourbon, Mae Turnbough of Springdale, Ark., and Barb Rhives of Festus; a grandson: Damian (Tiffany) Beers of De Soto; five granddaughters: Jeannie (Michael Sternard) Evans of Hillsboro, Lisa Sweeney of Fort Wayne, Ind., Valerie (Jacob) Politte of De Soto, Morgan (Dominic) Huskey of Festus and Geannie (Ethan Mollard) Beers of De Soto; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Charlie Beers Jr.; four brothers: Albert Parker, Edward Parker, Alvin Parker and Dennis Parker; and two sisters: Dorothy Austin and Wanda Lahman.
A funeral service was held May 15 at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Robert Short. Burial was in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to a GoFundMe account established for the family. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
