Ronald Mark Spoth Sr., 70, of Festus died July 20, 2026, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Spoth served in the U.S. Army for 21 years before retiring. Following his military service, he enjoyed a career as vice president and operations director of ABBCO Service Corp. in St. Louis. A man of faith and service, he was a founding member of Good News Community Church. He was also a life member of Elks Lodge 1721, Shekinah Masonic Lodge, Moolah Shriners, American Legion Post 253 and Twin Cities Amvets Post 171 of Festus. He was known for his generous heart, dedication to his family, love for his community and his lifelong passion for the Buffalo Bills. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, going on mission trips, traveling and spending winters at his vacation home in Florida. Born Dec. 2, 1955, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Chester and Helen (Denk) Spoth.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Nancy Lea (Perry) Spoth; a daughter: Amy (Zach) Knackstedt of Festus; two sons: Ronald (Wendi) Spoth Jr. of Festus and Ryan (Jeanne) Cautrell of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren: Haeli (Sydney) Johnson, Carson Gross, Kris Kachadorian, Ronald Spoth III, Michelle Spoth, Brady Knackstedt, Kennady Knackstedt, Lorelai Cautrell, Penelope Spoth and Lucas Cautrell; three great-grandchildren: Boaz, Shepherd and Rhys Johnson; a brother: Kevin (Pat) Spoth of Chandler, Ariz.; a sister: Laurie (Charles LoTempio) Hannah of Grand Island, N.Y.; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Tony) Bova of Crystal City and Peggy (Bob) Gift of Fredericksburg, Va.; a brother-in-law: Denny Rogers of Branson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents-in-law: Dean and Theresa Perry; a sister-in-law: Betty Rogers; and a nephew: Doug Winkler.
Interment with full military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13,in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. A memorial visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a celebration of life at noon Friday, Aug. 14, at Good News Community Church, 2793 Hwy. 61, in Festus, 63028.
