JoAnn Johnston, 82, Farmington

JoAnn Johnston, 82, of Farmington, formerly of Terre Du Lac, died Feb. 11, 2024, in Farmington. Mrs. Johnston worked at Dari-ette then later worked as a machine operator for W.K. Manufacturing and Haacke Manufacturing when she lived in De Soto. Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Terre Du Lac where they lived for 18 years. Born March 10, 1941, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of late Grace (Cook) and George Portell.

She is survived by her husband: LeRoy Johnston of Farmington; two children: Wendy (Terry) Snow of Farmington and Geoff (Kathy) Johnston of De Soto; a sibling: George “Ike” Portell; two grandchildren: Michael (Rachel) Johnston of St. Louis and Tyler Hebert of Terre Du Lac; and a great-granddaughter: Presley.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Lee Johnston; and two brothers: Gary Portell and Rick Portell.

Memorial gathering will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home. Burial will be in Four Seasons Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery of De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
