Norma Ann DeGonia, 85, of Festus died June 21, 2014, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. DeGonia was a parts saleswoman for Twin City Honda in Crystal City. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and the Red Hat Society. Born Oct. 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jeanette (White) and Vincent Paul Santschi. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Edward “Chub” DeGonia.

She is survived by two children: Paul R. DeGonia of Overland and Darla (the late Jerry) Helfrich of Ballwin; seven grandchildren: Kimberly DeGonia, Heather (Kelly Ware) Welch, Angela (Kenny) Parker, Amber White, Adam (Heather) Welch, Laura Beth Welch and Crystal (Gary) Landers; nine great-grandchildren: Kyle DeGonia, Caitlin Parker, Alex Parker, Ryan DeGonia, Drew Landers, Emily Landers, Nicholas Crawford, Payton White and Hailey Leigh-Ann Welch; two nieces: Janet “Susie” (Al) Nance and Terri (Don) Detmer; a sister-in-law: Elizabeth Osia; a godson: Thomas Harris; her best friend: Janie King; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Mass was held June 25 at Sacred Heart Church, officiated by the Rev. Clark Maes. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a local chapter of the Humane Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
