Norbert C. Herrick, 82, of Imperial died Jan. 19, 2014, at his home. Mr. Herrick was a retired driver/salesman with Old Vienna Snacks and a member of St. John Catholic Church in Imperial. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Born Feb. 22, 1931, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Minerva (Bettale) and Norbert Herrick.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean (Smith) Herrick; four children: Dennis Herrick of High Ridge; Sandy Herrick of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; Lisa Neislein of Imperial; and Amy (Todd) Bush of O’Fallon; three siblings: Dr. Kenneth Herrick, Shirley “Skippy” Merlo and Linda Sackin; seven grandchildren: Abby Herrick, Katie Herrick, Brittany Herrick, Ryan Herrick, Zach Neislein, Cole Bush and Chloe Bush; one great-grandchild: Kane Michael Neislein; several in-laws, uncles and veteran friends; as well as his furry companions, Annabelle and Sassy. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Carlo Merlo; and two sisters-in-law: Patricia (Robert) Smith Faucett and Louise Ketcherside Herrick.
Visitation is at 9:15 a.m. and funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. John Catholic Church, 4614 Blue Springs Road in Imperial. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks at a later date.
