Nathan M. “Nate” Chapman, 44, of De Soto died Oct. 6, 2022, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mr. Chapman worked as a sales associate for Smokey’s Place. He was a big fan of and had an encyclopedic knowledge of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. Born Oct. 5, 1978, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Mary Ann (Wilfong) and Russell Lee Chapman Sr.
He is survived by two children: Matthew Chapman and Maddox Chapman, both of Desloge; two siblings: Mary Chapman-Daniels of Festus and Russell Chapman Jr. of De Soto; a brother-in-law: Aaron Brayman of Festus; and a niece: Taylor. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Kevin Mabery.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the De Soto Athletic Club, 400 N. Main St., in De Soto, with a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
