Mahue, Myrtle

Myrtle Elizabeth Mahue, 92, of Festus died Dec. 26, 2019, at Scenic Nursing and Rehab Center in Herculaneum. Mrs. Mahue was a member of Our Lady Church in Festus. She loved dancing, bingo, visiting the casino, fishing, and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Born Dec. 26, 1927, in Brickeys, she was the daughter of the late Mamie (Holst) and William Youngblood. She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond S. Mahue.

She is survived by a daughter: Jo Ann (Jerry) Coplin of Festus; a son: David Ray (Mary) Mahue of Festus; four grandchildren: Kurt (Megan) Mahue, Jason Coplin, Jeremy Coplin and Amy (James) Proffitt; nine great-grandchildren: Abbey, Scotty, Addison, Cade, Emme, Lainey, Drake, Lincoln and Harrison; and a special friend: Steve Oberle of Festus.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Betty (the late Norville) Spradling; two brothers: Norman (Dorine) Youngblood and John Youngblood; and her companion: Harry Pappas.

Funeral Mass was held Dec. 30 at Our Lady Church in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
