Michael Thomas Preiss, 71, of Hillsboro died Aug. 12, 2022, at his home. Mr. Preiss was a truck driver for a large construction company. He loved snow skiing in several states and in Canada and was a member of the St. Louis Ski Club. He loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, teaching them to fish. Born July 18, 1951, in St. Louis, the son of the late Wilma (Reifenberger) and Thomas Preiss.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Mary (Gash) Preiss; two children: Ronald (Cathie) Preiss of Houston, Texas and Rachel (Martie) Genovese of Arnold; five grandchildren: Lauren Preiss, Sean Preiss, Isabella Genovese, Gianna Genovese and Luci Genovese; a sister: Debbie (Bob) Schreiber of Dana Point, Calif.; and three siblings-in-law: Cindy Preiss, Bill (Casey) Gash and Susan (Sven) Carlson. He was preceded in death by a brother: Eric Preiss.
A celebration of life will be held privately for family. Arrangements were under the direction of Cypress Pointe Cremation in St. Louis.
