Michael Lynn Charlton, 69, De Soto

Michael Lynn Charlton, 69, of De Soto died Oct. 17, 2021, at his home. Mr. Charlton owned and operated De Soto Express Trucking and Trio Drayage before retiring from Yusen Logistics. He was a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto. Born Aug. 12, 1952, in Ironton, he was the son of the late Bessie (Valentine) and James Charlton.

He is survived by his wife: Jacque (Lewis) Charlton of De Soto; three children: Kristina “Kris” (the late Brian) Schrameyer of De Soto, Lisa (Dr. Luis) Espinoza of Wichita, Kan., and Ryan (Molly) Charlton of El Dorado, Kan.; a sibling: Marion (Paul) Schweitzer of McLean, Ill.; nine grandchildren: Kayla Charlton, Jordan Marshall, Gabriela Espinoza, Mario Espinoza, Nicolas Espinoza, Cami Espinoza, Shaela Charlton, Clara Charlton and Henry Charlton; a sister-in-law: Gay Charlton of Bentonville, Ark.; and many other family and friends.

He also was preceded in death by two siblings: C.J. Charlton and Dorothy Lowe.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 20) at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 21) at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Brad Delaughter. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of De Soto or to the Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave., Port Washington, N.Y., 11050. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
