Michael L. 'Mike' Beals, 56, Hillsboro

Michael L. “Mike” Beals, 56, of Hillsboro died June 30, 2022, in a motor vehicle accident. Mr. Beals was a 1984 graduate of Waterloo High School and spent most of his life traveling the country as a freight hauler. He was a member of the Patriot Guard and touched the lives of many children in foster care. He enjoyed the outdoors, working on cars and engines, art and photography, and he loved spending time with his family, particularly to tell stories. Born Nov. 26, 1965, in St. Louis, he was the son of Kay Beals of St. Peters and the late Kenneth Beals.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Lorraine Beals of Hillsboro; a sister: Rebecca (Tim) Zoll of St. Peters; six children: Deborah (Tim) Joellenbeck of New Athens, Ill., Heather (Cesar) Cabeza of Wildwood, Amanda (Eddie) Jarvis of Arnold, Brandon (Madelyn) DeMan of Huntington Beach, Calif., Denzell Owens Jr. of Washington, Mo., and Delon Beals of Hillsboro; and four grandchildren: TJ, Michaela, Zackary and Jordan.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 17 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 4355 Butler Hill Road, in St. Louis County. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
