Jinkerson, Maxine

Maxine L. Jinkerson, 84, of De Soto died Dec. 15, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Jinkerson was a teacher for the Hillsboro R-3 School District. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where she served as the organist, a member of P.E.O. Chapter IX and a member of the D.A.R. Louisiana Purchase Chapter. She enjoyed gifted education, organ and dulcimer music, genealogy and St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball. Born Aug. 10, 1936, in Gary, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Elias Daniel and Vessey Jane (Ralph) Spry.

She is survived by her husband: Marvin W. Jinkerson of De Soto; four children: Donine M. Schwartz, Mark W. Wintermute, Charles “Chuck” M. Wintermute and Bradford E. Wintermute; a foreign exchange son: Radek Sterba; 10 grandchildren: Michael Wintermute, Justin Wintermute, Marcus Wintermute, Kirstin (Daniel) Lamers, Alyssa Wintermute, Danielle Wintermute, Jack Wintermute, Tyler Wintermute, Dylan Wintermute and Ashley Wintermute; four step-grandchildren: Sean-Patrick Jinkerson, Richie Jinkerson, Annamarie Goldstein and Neil Goldstein; and two step-great-grandchildren: Gabby Schwartz and Fletcher Schwartz.

She was preceded in death by one sibling: Lavonne M. Linnenburger.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. David Duncan, was private but may be viewed on the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home website at www.dietrichfuneralhome.com. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
