Mary Lee Baker, 90, of Festus died Aug. 29, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Baker was retired from GM as an autoworker after 33 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 25 and the Mississippi River Eagles. She was born Aug. 19, 1932, in Warsaw, Mo., the daughter of the late Alice ( Kelley) Wallace and Elton McBay.
She is survived by three children: Charles (Debra) Hager of Hudson, Ill., and William Hager and Cheri Meadows of Festus; five grandchildren: Corey, Melissa, Jason, Jennifer and Josh; and six great-grandchildren: Jude, Mariah, Lexus, Lauren, Christopher and Isabella. She was preceded in death by a son: James Hager; two stepsons: Michael (Bridget survives of Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Johnson and Kirk Johnson; and five siblings: Rene (the late Bill) Abel, Jean (the late Raymond) Pulliam, Wilburn (Sharon survives of Arlington, Virginia) McBay, David Wallace and Gladys Reluze.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Chaplain Mark McMullin. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
