Mary Helen Self, 91, of Iron Mountain died June 16, 2019, at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Park Hills. Mrs. Self was a homemaker and a member of the Iron Mountain Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the VFW in Bismarck and the Ladies Auxiliary at Iron Mountain Lake, and enjoyed quilting. Born Sept. 6, 1927, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Nellie (Hays) and Anton Ruff. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Self.
She is survived by two children: Dennis (Cassandra) Self and Debra (Harvey) Coffel; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; four step-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Elsie Hitch.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Visitation scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home, 1116 North Desloge Dr., in Park Hills. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, June 20, at the funeral home, followed by burial in the Weiss Family Cemetery in Doe Run. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Iron Mountain Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home.
