Goodwin, Mary Gaye

Mary Gaye Goodwin, 70, of Festus died March 1, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and the Red Hat Society. She had worked at Casey’s General Store in Crystal City and Frederick’s Catering in Festus. Born July 13, 1948, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Vera Ruth “Vee” (Greegor) and Frederick Linderer. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Steven “Steve” Goodwin, who died in December.

She is survived by a son: Charles Steven Goodwin II of Festus; two daughters: Stephanie (Cori Thibault) Goodwin of Gainesville, Fla., and Courtney (Wayne Williams) Goodwin of Ste. Genevieve; four sisters: Kerry (Ron) Scaggs of Festus, Nancy (Tom) Meyer of Bloomsdale, Cindy (Jim) Fallert of Bloomsdale and Cindy Akers of St. Louis; four brothers: Gary (Barbara) Linderer of Branson, Eric “Mike” (Mary) Linderer of Lenexa, Kan., Robin (Donna) Linderer of Lenexa and Jeffrey (Charla) Linderer of Manhattan, Kan.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many co-workers and friends at the Crystal City Casey’s.

A joint memorial service is planned for the Goodwins on Thursday, April 18, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A memorial gathering is at 5 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
