Mary Ellen Garner Farrell, 66, Arnold

Mary Ellen Garner Farrell, 66, of Arnold died Oct. 24, 2022. Mrs. Farrell had strong faith and enjoyed teaching and singing in the choir at her church. She also liked sewing for family and friends. Born Dec. 3, 1955, in Siler City, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Amy Garner.

She is survived by her husband: Brian; two children: Paul and Sarah; five siblings: Pat Garner of Bennett, N.C., Cheryl (Dale) Butler of Gadsden, Ala., Michael (Kim) Garner of Asheboro, N.C., Lauri (Clay) Purvis of Robbins, N.C., and Jeff (Brooke) Garner of Denton, N.C.; and nine nieces and nephews: Suzanne Springer, Gina Humble, Jonathan Garner, Amanda Walker, Daniel and Haley Purvis, and Jessica, Nathan and Campbell Garner.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Oliver and Claire Farrell.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
