Mary Ann Courtois, 72, of De Soto died Aug. 8, 2022, at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Dillon Chapter 16. Born Sept. 3, 1949, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Bernice (Evans) and Carl Hoelzel.
She is survived by two children: Danielle (Robert) Moskop of De Soto and Seth Courtois of De Soto; Seth’s longtime companion, Tara Thebeau, and her children, Landon and Ivie, as well as two grandchildren: Lilliane Diane and Carlton Allen Courtois; a sister: Barbara Hoelzel of De Soto; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Gus (Teresa) Winckel and Robert “Bob” (Edith) Winckel.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1004 Rock Road, in De Soto, with David Duncan and Steve Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
