Mary Ann Boyer, 87, of Crystal City died May 20, 2022, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City. Mrs. Boyer was a bookkeeper for St. Pius X Benedictine Abbey in Pevely, manager of the Glassworkers Credit Union in Crystal City, and she retired from Kirkwood Credit Union. She was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus and the Missouri Credit Union Association. She also was a supporter of St. Pius X High School in Crystal City, the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America, for which she served as neighborhood chairwoman for registration and cookie sales. Born Dec. 5, 1934, in Rivermines, she was the daughter of the late Anna Fidelis (Higgins) and Richard E. Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph C. Boyer.
She is survived by three daughters: Mary “Diane” (the late Mike) LaJoie of Atchison, Kan., Terri (Harry William “Bill”) Trimble of Willow Street, Penn., and Elizabeth “Liz” (Jack) Rothweiler of Crystal City; two sons: Bob (Sara) Boyer of Festus and John Boyer of Burlington, Vt.; two brothers: Richard Joseph “Joe” (Anna Jane) Wagner of Woodlands, Texas, and Anthony (Ruth) Wagner of Belleville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Clifford G. (the late Dee) Wagner.
A memorial gathering will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Ralph C. Boyer Scholarship at St. Pius X High School. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
