Marilyn Kay Bub, 78, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, died Jan. 9, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Bub was a 1962 Leadwood High School graduate. She spent her early career as a cosmetologist and maintained her license throughout her life. She also worked as the social service designee and activity director at The Villas, formerly the De Soto Residential Care Apartments. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mont Belvieu. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She also loved traveling, especially going on cruises, and she enjoyed anything Disney. She also enjoyed shopping, sewing, cooking, listening to music and playing the piano. She will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and willingness to help others. Born July 17, 1944, in Irondale, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Francis and Annette Pratt Scott.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years: Dickey Dean Bub.
She is survived by a son: Darrick S. (Emma) Bub of Beach City; two granddaughters: Elena and Elise Bub, both of Beach City; a sister: Clara Estes of Louisville, Ky.; two nephews: Greg and Cort Estes, both of Louisville, Ky.; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Randall Dean Bub.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until a celebration of life at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at First Baptist Church Mont Belvieu, 10110 Eagle Drive, officiated by Brother John Mueller. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Homes in Texas.
