Margie L. Stricklin, 88, of Festus died April 15, 2021, at Crystal Oaks Long Term Care Center in Festus. Mrs. Stricklin was a licensed practical nurse at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. Later, she and her husband owned the Twin City Animal Hospital of Festus with her husband. She was a member of the Twin City Optimist Club and a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus. Born March 14, 1933, in Fredericktown, she was the daughter of the late Della (Revelle) and Lloyd Whitener.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Dr. Ernest Stricklin, whom she married Dec. 21, 1968; five children: Judy (Jim) Kottmeier of Festus, Dana Stoner of Florida, Marcie (Lonnie) Compton of Crystal City, E. Edward Stricklin of Pevely and Martha Preston of Orlando, Fla.; and numerous family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Paul Davis; a son: Paul Joseph “Jody” Davis; a son-in-law: John Preston; and a brother: B.D. Whitener.

Private services. Burial service was in the Whitener-Barber Cemetery in Madison County, officiated by the Rev. John Weaver. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
