Margaret R. Ogle, 101, of Festus died Oct. 11, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Ogle was the last surviving charter member of the Mapaville Volunteer Fire Association and a member of Hematite Christian Church. Born Aug. 9, 1914, in River Aux Vases, she was the daughter of the late Phillip J. and Dora (Oberle) Vogt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years: Newman Franklin Ogle.
She is survived by a daughter: Virginia (Walter) Wolk of Festus; a sister-in-law: Alice Vogt of Festus; three grandsons: Jay (Carrie) Wolk of Festus, Steve (Lori) Wolk of Festus and Mike (Lori) Wolk of Festus; and six great-grandchildren: Stacie Wolk, Victoria Wolk, Stephen Wolk, Elizabeth Wolk, Melissa Wolk and Nathan Wolk.
She was preceded in death by an infant son: Glenn Elbert Ogle; a great-granddaughter: Madalaine Michelle Wolk; a sister: Loretta Bewig; and two brothers: Rudolph (the late LaVerne) Vogt and Charles Vogt.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 116 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Terry Crank. Burial is in the Hematite Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mapaville Fire Protection District. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
