Margaret L. (Parker) Stafford, 88, of Barnhart died June 19, 2019, at Hillcrest Nursing Care in De Soto. Mrs. Stafford was a personnel administrator at General Motors. She was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church in Hillsboro and a member of Gideons International Auxiliary. Born June 4, 1931, in Howes Mill, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Clifford. Parker and Verdie (Short) Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband: Glenn W. Stafford.
She is survived by one daughter: Carole (Jim) Abling of Barnhart; one granddaughter: Karen (Aaron) Schmiedeke of Festus; three great-grandchildren: Garrett Duckworth, Morgan Duckworth and Rylan Duckworth; one brother-in-law: Don Webb; one sister-in-law: Adalee (Phil) Parker-Wadlow; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one brother: Raymond Parker; and two sisters: Leota (Paul) Jaycox and Athalene Webb.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, at Highland Baptist Church, 5030 Highland Baptist Church Road, in Hillsboro. Food and fellowship will follow the services at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, at Boss Cemetery, 1573 Hwy. 32. Memorials may be made to Gideons International. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
