Ford, Savana

M. Savana Ford, 87, of Barnhart died Jan. 1, 2021, in St. Charles. Mrs. Ford was a retired factory worker at Bussman Fuse Co. She attended First General Baptist Church of St. Charles and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Herculaneum. Born July 29, 1934, in Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Henry and Mae (Smith) Runyon. She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmer Ford.

She is survived by a stepdaughter: Brenda Gamache of Festus; a stepson: Michael Elmer Ford of St. Louis; a sister: Delphia (Allen) Nix of Piggott, Ark.; and four brothers: Neal Henry of Lucedale, Miss., Noah “John” Runyon of Vichy, Ross (the late Carolyn) Runyon of Houston, Texas, and Frank Runyon of St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Cuba Warra; two grandsons: Jerome Smalley and Devin Warra; and six brothers: Marion “Sam” Henry, Delbert (Dora survives of Pennsylvania) Runyon, Ray (the late Connie) Runyon, Thomas (June survives of St. Charles) Runyon, Connie Runyon, and Ronnie (Brenda survives of St. Peters) Runyon.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by Brother Dennis Mintner. Burial will follow in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Order of the Eastern Star in Herculaneum. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
