Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert Jefferis, 82, of High Ridge, died Feb. 5, 2017. Lt. Col. Jefferis was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Walla Walla, Wash., the son of the late William and Alice (Parisi) Jefferis. He was preceded in death by his wife: Gloria (Redihan) Jefferis.
He is survived by three children: Kathleen (Karl) Koenigsfeld, Maureen (Michael) Norco and William (Carol) Jefferis; a sister: Margaret (Kenneth) Dolan; nine grandchildren: Jessica, Brandi, Kaitlin, Cole, Shannon, William, Wade, Wyatt and Wesley; six great-grandchildren: Kayson, Karson, Teagan, Alaina, Jaxson and Gracyn; and numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Robert Jefferis Jr.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 pm. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Drive, in Fenton. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 Friday, Feb. 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 17 Ann Ave., in Valley Park. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home.
