Loretta Sue (Prsha) Buettner, 75, of Arnold died Jan. 13, 2022. Ms. Buettner was a 1964 graduate of East St. Louis High School and moved to Fairmont City and Highland, Ill., with her husband. They later moved to Cedar Hill and finally settled in Arnold. She loved animals and volunteered at Jefferson County Animal Shelter and worked closely with other private shelters. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Born Aug. 14, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Mike Prsha. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dan Buettner.
She is survived by three children: Dana (Shane) Williams of Hillsboro, Michael Buettner of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Daniel Buettner of Hillsboro; five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Ryker, Sidney, Reese and Christian; a sister: Nancy (Dixon) Smart of Broomfield, Colo.; and her two dogs: Taco and Bella.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at St. Mark United Church of Christ, 1861 Missouri State Road, in Arnold. Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Animal Control & Shelter, 4848 State Hwy. 30, House Springs, 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Cypress Pointe Cremation in St. Louis.
