Lola Mildred (McMullin) Kleinschmidt, 100, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Festus, died Dec. 2, 2019, at Jewell Assisted Living in Denver, Colo. Mrs. Kleinschmidt worked at Goldman’s department store and Kline’s drug store in Festus. She also worked for 25 years as the secretary to the president of the Bank of Albuquerque. In addition, she was the co-owner of Flowers by Martha Lee, a floral shop in Albuquerque. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and gardening.
Born March 29, 1919, in Plattin, she was the daughter of the late Victoria “Birdie” (White) and Leander “Lee Doc” McMullin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. “Frank” Kleinschmidt.
She is survived by four nieces: Annetta (Melvin) Johnson of Aurora, Colo., Carol (the late James) Bonner of Maryland Heights, Mary (Fred) Thoelke of Crystal, N.D., and Joan Boyer of Festus; two nephews: Paul D. (Judy) Williams of Festus and Stephen L. (Janice) Williams of Hillsboro; 18 great nieces and great nephews, 33 great-great nieces and great-great nephews and nine great-great-great nieces and great-great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Cleo H. (Joseph R. “Buck”) Williams; a brother: Clarence E. (Geraldine Fitzgerald) McMullin; a niece: Kim (Dan survives) Grimes; two nephews: Lloyd D. Williams and John R. (Thelma Niven survives) Williams.
Memorials may be made to the Ozark Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomers Funeral Home in Aurora, Colo.
