Lindell L. Bates, 67, of St. Louis died May 27, 2017, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Bates was retired from Teledyne Corp. and he and his wife founded QOL Publishing Co. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church. He was born June 28, 1949, in St. Louis, the son of the late Thelma (Randall) and Lawrence Bates.
He is survived by his wife: Sheila J. (Mehler) Bates, a daughter: Erika L. (Rene) Cuevas of Crestwood; a son: Jason (Michelle) Hackenwerth of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother: Larrie R. Bates of Fenton; a sister-in-law: Carole Bates of Herculaneum; and three grandchildren: Juniper and Miles Hackenwerth and Ava Cuevas.
He is preceded in death by a brother: Lloyd G. Bates.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Herculaneum. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
