Tyler, Linda

Linda Sue Tyler, 60, of Hematite died Sept. 17, 2021, in Festus, following a battle with ovarian cancer. Mrs. Tyler was a CNA at Festus Manor Nursing Center for more than 40 years. She was known as strong, helpful, caring and generous, and she enjoyed being outside, crocheting, listening to Christian music, watching church sermons and spending time with family. Born July 14, 1961, in Los Angeles, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Cletus Everett and Lillian Florence (Moser) Thompson.

She is survived by her husband: Jackie Wayne Tyler of Hematite; two daughters: Shannon Marie (William) Oller of Crystal City and Carrie Ann (Tristan) Lawson of Festus; two sons: Eric Wesley (fiancé Tayla Desper) Thompson of Hillsboro and Jay Dale Tyler of Hematite; five brothers: John Thompson of St. Mary, Mike Thompson of St. Mary, Steve Thompson of Festus, David Thompson of Festus and Clete Thompson Jr. of Texas; three sisters: Cheryl (Charlie) Bye of Festus, Tammy (Jeff) Lewis of Bloomsdale and Connie (the late Chris) Birks of Festus; and nine grandchildren: Sierra Oller, Braiden Oller, Donovan Oller, Grayson Oller, Holden Oller, Landrey Boyer, Nolen Boyer, Julian Lawson and Jude Lawson.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a memorial service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W Main, in Festus, officiated by Pastor Benjamen Cordray. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
